Korea Stablecoin Hackathon Aims to Lead KRW Market

A Korea Stablecoin Hackathon will take place beginning August 1, 2025. The event seeks to foster collaboration between Web3 fintech developers and established enterprises to advance the South Korean stablecoin market, particularly those pegged to the Korean Won (KRW). Regulatory progress has spurred increased activity in the region, making this initiative timely.

Hackathon Details

The hackathon includes two tracks:

  • Ideathon: Focused on future KRW-backed stablecoin initiatives.
  • Hackathon: Powered by native USDT.

A prize pool of USD 72.5 thousand (KRW 100 million) is available. Top performers will receive support to launch Mini DApps within LINE Messenger.

Venture Capital Review

Kaia Wave VC Alliances and Simsan Ventures, a global venture capital firm, will assess promising projects for potential investment.

Keynote Speaker

Byung-deok Min, the lawmaker who proposed the Digital Asset Basic Act of Korea (2025), will deliver a keynote speech at the awards event in September.
