Record Liquidity Fuels Ether Surge

Record Liquidity Fuels Ether Surge

Ethereum

Global liquidity recently approached all-time highs, reaching $140 trillion. This surge, fueled by a weakening U.S. dollar and a declining MOVE Index, has significantly supported Ether's upward trend.

Strong Macro Support for Ether

  • Record Liquidity: Global liquidity increased by $0.46 trillion, a 0.33% rise, bolstering market confidence in risk assets like Ether.
  • Sustained Institutional Inflows: Ether ETFs experienced $350.48 million in net inflows over ten consecutive days, demonstrating strong institutional support.

This substantial increase wasn't coincidental. The weekly growth in liquidity, confirmed by Alpha Extract, reinforced the macro-level support for Ether's bullish trajectory.

Analyzing Ether's Rate of Change (RoC)

The 3-month Rate of Change (RoC) remained elevated, suggesting the recent price breakout wasn't a temporary phenomenon. Historically, a rising 3-month RoC correlates with bull markets and risk-on sentiment. This trend has persisted despite shifting geopolitical landscapes.

Institutional Activity and Whale Behavior

Increased whale activity and institutional inflows further solidify Ether's upward momentum. While one whale withdrew 163 ETH ($17.16 million) from Binance, this was part of a larger transaction. A total of 2,263 ETH ($235.02 million) was withdrawn, with 2,100 ETH subsequently moved to cold storage, indicating a long-term bullish outlook and a preference for self-custody.

The significant ETF inflows, especially $217.65 million from BlackRock's IBIT and $105.66 million from Fidelity, alongside positive inflows from smaller funds, illustrates unwavering institutional confidence.

Short Squeeze Intensifies Upward Pressure

On the 15-minute chart, Ether experienced a sharp price jump exceeding $105,000, triggering a significant short squeeze. A strong bullish candle propelled the price to $105,112 from $103,697. This, coupled with a decrease in CVD to -10.438K and a reduction in Open Interest (OI), indicates a large-scale liquidation of short positions, providing additional fuel to the bull market.
