Blade of God X: Web3 Abandonment Allegations
A former executive of the Web3 game Blade of God X (BOGX) has accused the project of abandoning its blockchain-based roadmap after raising funds through the crypto community. Amber Bella, the former chief marketing officer, publicly claimed on April 1st that despite Web3 funding, the game’s Web3 goals and associated team were completely disregarded.
Web3 Abandonment and Unpaid Salaries
Bella stated on X (formerly Twitter) that the Web3 team’s salaries went from delayed payments to non-payment. She further alleged that instead of refunding non-fungible token (NFT) buyers and compensating users, the game's founder, Tnise Liu Yang, blocked her from all communication channels.
Attempted Refund and Blocked Communication
Bella claims she attempted to persuade Yang to responsibly liquidate the game's Web3 assets and refund NFT sales. However, she reports being blocked from communication after this request. She stated: "When I requested that Tnise refund all sold NFTs and properly address the Web3 community...I discovered I had been blocked from all personal communication channels without any advance notice."
Allegations of Web2 Team Misconduct
Further accusations involve the Web2 team allegedly claiming prizes allocated for players. Bella asserts the Web2 team used their accounts to claim these rewards, a fact only revealed after the Web3 team presented compelling evidence.
OKX Ventures Investment and Game Overview
BOGX, an action role-playing game (RPG) developed by Void Labs, received investment from OKX Ventures on May 11, 2024. OKX Ventures’ press release (since deleted) described the game as merging "advanced AI agents with blockchain technology." This investment now casts a shadow given Bella's allegations.
Cointelegraph reached out to Blade of God X for comment but received no response.
