Sonic DeFAI Hackathon: $250,000 Up for Grabs
Sonic Labs, creators of the high-performance EVM L1 blockchain Sonic, is thrilled to announce a $250,000 DeFAI hackathon in collaboration with DoraHacks and Zerebro. This four-week competition challenges developers to create innovative AI agents capable of performing both social and on-chain actions, advancing decentralized finance (DeFi) on the Sonic blockchain.
What is DeFAI?
DeFAI combines AI and blockchain technology. AI agents can automate complex tasks on a blockchain—bridging assets, swapping tokens, and providing liquidity—all autonomously. They can also manage social media and marketing efficiently.
Hackathon Details
Submissions open: January 21, 2025
Submission deadline: February 24, 2025
Winners announced: Early March
Participants will leverage Sonic's 10,000 TPS and sub-second finality to build seamless, real-time AI agents. The hackathon provides resources and support to help developers succeed.
Prize Structure
- First Place: $60,000
- Second Place: $55,000
- Third Place: $45,000
- Honorable Mentions (2): $15,000 each
Additional bonus prizes are available for agents meeting specific criteria.
