SharpLink's ETH Treasury Swells, SBET Stock Reacts
SharpLink Gaming's Bold Ethereum Strategy
SharpLink Gaming has solidified its position as a major corporate holder of Ethereum, with its treasury now holding just under 729,000 ETH. This growth follows the implementation of its Ethereum-based treasury plan on June 2, 2025, which designated ETH as the company's primary reserve currency.
Massive Fundraise Fuels ETH Accumulation
According to SharpLink Gaming's Q2 2025 report, the company raised over $2.6 billion through PIPE and Registered Direct offerings specifically to purchase ETH. This aggressive strategy has significantly increased the company's "ETH Concentration," a metric measuring ETH held per 1,000 diluted shares, nearly doubling from 2.00 to 3.95.
In the past week alone, SharpLink Gaming secured an additional $900 million for further Ethereum acquisitions, aligning with broader institutional interest. U.S.-listed Ethereum ETFs have collectively purchased $1 billion in ETH recently as the asset's price approaches record levels. SharpLink is also staking nearly 100% of its ETH holdings, generating 1,326 ETH in rewards without needing to liquidate assets.
SBET Stock Dips Despite ETH Gains
Despite the growth in its ETH treasury, SharpLink Gaming's stock (SBET) closed at $21.25, a 9.45% decrease after the earnings release. This decline appears linked to the reported Q2 net loss of $103.4 million. However, SBET has still increased by 176.76% year-to-date and 127.08% over the past year.

The company's Q2 2025 revenue was $0.7 million, down from $1.0 million in Q2 2024, with a gross profit of $0.2 million (30% of gross). Sales for the first half of 2025 totaled $1.4 million, compared to $2.0 million the previous year.
These figures were impacted by an $87.8 million write-down related to liquid staked ETH and $16.4 million in share-based payments to Consensys advisory, highlighting the costs associated with SharpLink Gaming's strategic alliance with the prominent Ethereum software firm.
Leadership Changes Signal Long-Term Commitment
Recent governance shifts underscore SharpLink's ongoing dedication to its Ethereum treasury strategy. Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin has joined as Chairman of the Board, and Joseph Chalom, formerly Head of Digital Assets at BlackRock, has become Co-CEO. SharpLink Gaming's focus remains firmly on Ethereum, anticipating long-term gains from staking yields and price appreciation of its ETH assets.
For ventures heavily invested in digital assets, robust security measures are paramount. Platforms like Codeum offer comprehensive smart contract auditing and KYC solutions to ensure the integrity and compliance of blockchain-based operations.
