Koinos.fun, a new application enabling users to mint and send NFTs on X (formerly Twitter), has rapidly gained traction. Within four hours, the app onboarded over 1,000 new blockchain users.
Revolutionizing Value Transfer
This web app offers a unique approach to blockchain transactions: completely fee-less and token-less. Users create an NFT via a generative AI, then send it directly on X. The app seamlessly handles wallet creation and NFT transfer in the background.
Built on the Koinos Blockchain
Koinos.fun leverages the Koinos blockchain, a layer-1 (L1) blockchain launched in 2022. Developed by experienced engineers from Steemit, Koinos has always prioritized feeless transactions. Unlike many other blockchains, Koinos is community-owned, with no venture capital backing or founder token lockups.
Koinos Group CEO Steve Gerbino explains: "Web3's complexity hinders mainstream adoption. We aim to create user-friendly apps that "just work," like internet apps, eliminating complicated onboarding and fees."
Outpacing X Money
While Elon Musk has promised X Money for value transfer on his platform, Koinos.fun represents the first blockchain application to deliver this functionality, according to Ron Hamenahem, one of the app's creators. He states: "We built this to demonstrate blockchain's potential for user-friendliness. We believe making it fun and accessible encourages adoption."
KOIN Airdrop
Koinos.fun is also running an airdrop of 50,000 KOIN. Users who share their NFTs with friends are eligible. Michael Vandeberg, a Koinos blockchain architect, explains: "We want people using Koinos fee-free. We track NFTs with high reach and followers, airdropping KOIN to everyone who owned them."
