Kiyosaki's Bitcoin Investment Strategy
Robert Kiyosaki, author of "Rich Dad Poor Dad," recently revealed his rationale for investing in Bitcoin (BTC). In a post on X, he discussed the financial principles that separate the wealthy from the poor, highlighting the importance of understanding and adhering to economic laws.
Bitcoin as a Store of Value
Kiyosaki emphasizes two key laws: Gresham's Law and Metcalf's Law. Gresham's Law states that "bad money drives out good." He criticizes those who hoard fiat currency while neglecting assets he considers "real money" such as gold, silver, and Bitcoin. He believes Bitcoin's scarcity and inherent value make it a superior store of value compared to depreciating fiat currencies.
Metcalf's Law, focusing on network effects, emphasizes the value of robust networks. Kiyosaki contrasts successful networked businesses like FedEx and McDonald's with less successful, isolated businesses. He highlights Bitcoin's network as a critical factor in his investment decision, differentiating it from other cryptocurrencies that lack a comparable level of established network effect.
Corporate Bitcoin Adoption
Kiyosaki's perspective aligns with other prominent figures on Wall Street. Michael Saylor's MicroStrategy, for instance, is a significant corporate holder of Bitcoin. MicroStrategy recently purchased 7,390 BTC for $764 million, raising its total holdings to 576,230 BTC, acquired at an average price of $69,726 per BTC.
Kiyosaki quoted Saylor's advice: "Only invest in things...a rich person will buy from you." He urges his followers to follow these principles and invest in Bitcoin accordingly.
Bitcoin Price Outlook
Kiyosaki, a long-time Bitcoin advocate, previously predicted a $500,000 price target for Bitcoin, citing potential hyperinflation as a driving factor. While the price has recently fluctuated around $109,073, market experts remain optimistic about Bitcoin's potential for further growth.
