Justin Sun Urges WLFI to Unlock Frozen Tokens, Pledges $20M Buy
Justin Sun Disputes World Liberty Financial Token Freeze
Justin Sun is publicly appealing to World Liberty Financial (WLFI) to reverse the blacklisting of his address. This action by WLFI has resulted in the freezing of 540 million unlocked and 2.4 billion locked WLFI tokens, totaling over $3 billion in value.
In an open letter posted on X, Sun described the token freeze as an "unreasonable" action, asserting that tokens should be considered “sacred and inviolable.” He stated such unilateral actions undermine investor confidence and violate legitimate investor rights.
“My goal has always been to grow alongside the team and community and to jointly build a strong and healthy WLF ecosystem,” Sun wrote. “I call on the team to respect these principles, unlock my tokens, and let’s move forward together toward the success of World Liberty Financials.”
Sun Pledges $20M to Support WLFI and ALTS
Following the freeze, which was triggered by on-chain trackers noting $9 million in WLFI transfers to exchanges, Sun has reaffirmed his commitment to the project. He announced plans to market buy $10 million worth of WLFI and $10 million worth of ALTS, the ticker for Alt5 Sigma, a Nasdaq-listed company.
"We believe U.S.-listed crypto stocks are an undervalued opportunity. I will market buy $10 million worth of ALTS and $10 million worth of WLFI."
Alt5 had previously announced a $1.5 billion offering to establish a WLFI token treasury strategy. Sun's pledge signals support for these initiatives across both traditional finance and decentralized markets.
WLFI was trading slightly above $0.18 at the time of this writing, while ALTS was up 5%.
