Haun Ventures Seeks $1 Billion for Two New Crypto Funds
Haun Ventures, the venture capital firm founded by former Coinbase board member Katie Haun, is reportedly seeking $1 billion for two new investment funds focused on crypto. This ambitious fundraising round, expected to close in June, aims to allocate $500 million to early-stage crypto investments and another $500 million to late-stage projects.
Lower Target, High Expectations
While the target is lower than the $1.5 billion raised in their highly successful 2022 funding round, Haun anticipates oversubscription. The firm attributes the adjusted target to altered market conditions compared to 2022.
This fundraising round is poised to be one of the largest in crypto funding in the last two years, following similar efforts by firms like Paradigm ($850 million in June 2024) and Pantera Capital (seeking over $1 billion in April 2024).

Stablecoins and Future Predictions
While the specific focus of Haun Ventures' new funds remains undisclosed, market analysts foresee continued interest in stablecoins. Deng Chao, CEO of HashKey Capital, recently highlighted stablecoins as a key use case for crypto. Meanwhile, Infinity Hedge projects that crypto VC investment in 2025 will exceed 2024 levels, though it's unlikely to reach the $33.8 billion peak of 2021.
Haun Ventures recently participated in Bitwise's $70 million funding round, alongside investors such as Electric Capital, MassMutual, MIT Investment Management Company, and Highland Capital.
