Ethereum (ETH) Price Under Pressure

The Ethereum price is under threat of further decline as institutional investors continue liquidating their holdings. Trend Research, a notable player in the crypto industry, has recently deposited $1.8 billion worth of Ethereum into Binance, signaling a significant sell-off.

Trend Research Unloads Ethereum Amid Price Drop

According to Lookonchain data, Trend Research's recent deposit of Ethereum into Binance is a continuation of its selling pattern. This activity coincides with a broader market decline, impacting Ethereum's valuation.

Previously, Trend Research had taken a bullish stance on Ethereum, leveraging $2 billion in stablecoins from Aave, backed by Ethereum. The firm anticipated a swift recovery from the October dip below $4,000. However, the market has not rebounded as expected, exacerbated by Bitcoin's decline to $60,000, resulting in Ethereum's lowest price since April 2025.

Trend Research's founder, Jack Yi, described the sale as a risk management strategy amidst $747 million in losses. Yi remains optimistic about a future bull market, asserting the current environment is ideal for acquiring assets.

Increasing Selling Pressure on Ethereum

Additional selling pressure comes from prominent crypto investor Garrett Jin, who has been liquidating his Ethereum holdings. Speculation about internal connections between Jin and Trend Research has arisen due to shared Binance deposit addresses.

Meanwhile, "7 Siblings" faces potential liquidation with nearly 287,000 ETH at risk if prices drop further. Ethereum's co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, has also been offloading Ethereum, selling 2,900 ETH valued at $6.6 million last week at an average price of $2,228.

Despite the downturn, BitMine, Ethereum's largest treasury holder, remains committed to acquiring more tokens, as emphasized by Tom Lee, who maintains a long-term bullish outlook.
