Crypto Market Cap Nears $4 Trillion: ETH & XRP Surge
The total crypto market capitalization is on the verge of hitting $4 trillion, propelled by significant daily gains in Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, and other cryptocurrencies. This surge coincides with the passage of three key crypto bills in the US House.
A $4 trillion market cap would position the crypto market just behind Nvidia, which briefly surpassed this milestone earlier this month and currently holds a $4.2 trillion valuation.
Data from CoinMarketCap indicates a peak crypto market capitalization of $3.8 trillion, while TradingView reports $3.9 trillion, exceeding the previous high of $3.73 trillion recorded in December.
Some trackers, such as CoinGecko, already show that the crypto market capitalization has surpassed the $4 trillion mark.
ETH and XRP Lead Market Gains
Bitcoin (BTC) has climbed back above $120,000, showing modest daily gains. However, Ether (ETH) and XRP are experiencing more substantial surges following the US House's approval of three critical crypto bills.
Ether prices jumped 8% to exceed $3,600 for the first time since early January, marking a 40% increase over the past two weeks.
Ripple's XRP token surged nearly 20%, reaching a year-to-date high of $3.64 in early trading.
More Gains Expected, Say Analysts
Nick Ruck, director at LVRG Research, noted that “Traders see digital asset prices surge from regulatory and institutional support.” He added, “We’re optimistic that this growth will continue as institutions race to advance integration with the crypto industry.”
US Regulations Boost Markets
Nassar Al Achkar, chief strategy officer at CoinW crypto exchange, stated, “Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies surged as traders entered a risk-on mode due to bullish regulatory and institutional developments.”
He also mentioned, “The passing of the GENIUS Act and Trump’s plan to open the US retirement market to crypto investments could unlock trillions in institutional capital.”
