CZ Dismisses Return to Binance Post-Pardon

Changpeng Zhao, co-founder of Binance, has confirmed he will not be returning to the crypto exchange despite being pardoned by US President Donald Trump. Speaking to CNBC's Squawk Box, Zhao noted that while the pardon lifts previous restrictions, he has no intention of rejoining Binance. "I didn’t really want to go back," Zhao stated, emphasizing the importance of allowing new leaders to emerge.

Binance Thrives with New Leadership

Since Zhao's departure, Binance continues to thrive under the leadership of Richard Teng and Yi He. The exchange reported significant growth, with its user base surpassing 300 million and an annual trading volume of $34 trillion. Zhao remains a passive shareholder, offering guidance through social media rather than direct involvement.

Anticipating a Bitcoin Supercycle

Despite a downturn in crypto sentiment, Zhao is optimistic about Bitcoin's future. He predicts a potential supercycle in 2026, suggesting a break from the traditional four-year cycle, driven by increasing global pro-crypto stances. Zhao explained, "This year might break the four-year cycle," highlighting the US's supportive crypto environment as a catalyst.
