Bybit's Byreal DEX: A Solana Hybrid CEX-DeFi Launch

Bybit's Byreal DEX: A Solana Hybrid CEX-DeFi Launch

DeFi

Bybit, a prominent cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the upcoming launch of Byreal, its Solana-based decentralized exchange (DEX). A testnet version is scheduled for release on June 30th, 2025, with the mainnet launch planned for Q3 2025.

Byreal: A Hybrid CEX-DeFi Approach

Byreal distinguishes itself through its unique hybrid model, combining the liquidity of a centralized exchange (CEX) with the transparency inherent in decentralized finance (DeFi). Bybit CEO, Ben Zhou, highlights this synergy, stating that Byreal offers "CEX-grade liquidity with DeFi-native transparency." This approach, described as "real hybrid finance," aims to provide users with the best of both worlds.

Advanced Routing Technology

Byreal incorporates advanced routing technologies, including Request for Quote (RFQ) and Concentrated Liquidity Market Maker (CLMM). This ensures users benefit from low slippage, minimized Maximal Extractable Value (MEV), and high transaction speeds. RFQ allows for price comparisons across multiple sources, while CLMM concentrates liquidity around the current market price, improving efficiency.

Entering a Competitive Market

Byreal enters a competitive DEX landscape dominated by Uniswap, holding a 24% market share and $4.9 billion in Total Value Locked (TVL). Curve and PancakeSwap follow with $1.9 billion and $1.7 billion in TVL, respectively. The overall DEX TVL currently stands at $20.3 billion, significantly down from its peak. This decline highlights the challenges and opportunities within the DEX market.

Solana DEX Landscape

While Solana has seen significant activity in memecoin trading, several DEXs operate within its ecosystem. Raydium currently leads with $1.7 billion in TVL and a 55% market share within Solana. However, its trading volume has experienced a considerable drop.

Codeum: Ensuring Blockchain Security

Building secure and reliable decentralized applications requires rigorous testing and expertise. Codeum provides comprehensive blockchain security services, including smart contract audits, KYC verification, custom smart contract and DApp development, tokenomics and security consultation, and partnerships with launchpads and crypto agencies. These services help projects mitigate risks and build trust within the blockchain ecosystem.

Byreal’s launch will be closely watched, given the innovative approach to combining CEX and DEX functionalities. Its success hinges on delivering a user-friendly experience that leverages the strengths of both models.
