Backpack Opens FTX EU Claims Process
Backpack has initiated the first phase of the claims process for former FTX Europe users. This follows Backpack's acquisition of FTX EU in January 2025.
Claim Process Details
- Create a Backpack account: Users must create an account on the Backpack exchange.
- Submit KYC information: Know Your Customer (KYC) information is required.
- Connect to FTX EU claim account: Link your Backpack account to your existing FTX EU claim account.
There is currently no deadline for this phase. Withdrawal fees apply: €5 ($5.39) for claims under €2,000 ($2,158), and 0.25% for amounts exceeding this threshold. A timeline for distributions has yet to be announced.
Important Information for Claimants
- Settlement details: All positions were closed at market prices on the day of the exchange's closure and settled in Euros.
- Pending withdrawals (Nov 11, 2022): Users with pending crypto withdrawals on November 11, 2022, should have filed a claim with FTX's US bankruptcy proceedings. These claims are handled separately by the FTX Recovery Trust, not Backpack.
- FTX users before March 7, 2022: EU residents who registered with FTX before March 7, 2022, are considered FTX International customers and must file claims directly with FTX International, not Backpack.
FTX Estate's Upcoming Distributions
