Aster DEX Sets Sights on 2026 for Layer-1 Network Launch
Aster DEX, a decentralized cryptocurrency exchange, has unveiled its roadmap for the first half of 2026. The plan includes the anticipated launch of Aster Chain, a layer-1 network, along with feature rollouts from December 2025 to Q2 2026.
Roadmap Focused on Three Parallel Tracks
The roadmap is segmented into three key areas: Infrastructure, Token Utility, and Ecosystem & Community. Development will occur concurrently across all three, with deployments staged incrementally rather than as a single update.
By early December 2025, Aster aims to introduce 'Shield Mode,' a high-leverage privacy trading feature. Concurrently, 'Strategy Order' will implement a TWAP approach to optimize execution pricing and minimize slippage.
Mid-December 2025 will see an RWA market update, enhancing stock perpetual markets and potentially expanding listed assets to improve market depth and quality.
Ongoing enhancements to the user interface and experience are planned, though no specific timeline is provided.
Aster 2026 Roadmap Framework and Release Strategy
The development roadmap kicks off with a testnet launch for Aster Chain at the end of December for community testing, aiming for a layer-1 launch in Q1 2026.
Q1 2026 will also introduce Aster Code, a developer integration tool, alongside fiat on-ramp and off-ramp support via third-party providers.
Q2 2026 will focus on token-centric features. Aster Staking will allow ASTER holders to stake tokens for APY rewards. Governance rights will also be granted to users.
Aster Smart Money will enable users to mirror live trades or follow selected traders' strategies, with more specifics to follow.
The update recapped 2025 activities, including a merger with Astherus and ApolloX, multi-asset margin deployment, mobile app development, a token generation event, and centralized exchange listings.
