Aptos Labs Expands Leadership Amidst RWA Growth

Aptos Labs, the developer of the Aptos layer-1 blockchain, has appointed Solomon Tesfaye as its new Chief Business Officer (CBO). This strategic move strengthens Aptos' executive team during a period of significant growth in tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) and increased institutional blockchain adoption.

Key Highlights:

  • Tokenized RWAs on Aptos surpass $540 million.
  • Institutional integrations have doubled since early 2025.
  • Solomon Tesfaye, formerly Head of Capital Markets at Aptos, assumes the CBO role.

Tesfaye's previous role saw him successfully forging connections between Aptos and key players in traditional finance. This led to partnerships with prominent institutions such as BlackRock, Apollo, and Franklin Templeton, significantly positioning Aptos for growth in the crypto exchange-traded product (ETP) and exchange-traded fund (ETF) markets in both the US and Europe.

"Solomon has been instrumental in shaping our Global Trading Engine vision and building crucial partnerships," said Avery Ching, Co-Founder and CEO at Aptos Labs. "As CBO, he will be vital in scaling this work, attracting more institutions and expanding real-world applications on Aptos as global Web3 adoption accelerates."

Tesfaye brings over a decade of experience in investment banking, venture capital, and digital asset strategy. In his new role, he will spearhead Aptos Labs' expansion into financial services infrastructure, institutional onboarding, and scalable tokenization. His focus will encompass forging global enterprise partnerships in fintech, payments, and asset management, as well as driving strategic initiatives and business development.

Aptos is poised to benefit from the pro-crypto policies of the current administration, which promise clearer regulatory frameworks and greater support for crypto businesses. This positive regulatory environment further strengthens Aptos' growth trajectory.

"With the US nearing the completion of frameworks for next-generation financial services, Aptos Labs is primed to lead the transition to on-chain assets and help shape the future of global markets," stated Tesfaye. "I am excited to foster the partnerships and integrations institutions and market participants need to fully leverage Aptos' tokenization capabilities."

This leadership expansion occurs alongside a period of robust adoption, with Aptos exceeding $540 million in tokenized RWAs and doubling its institutional integrations since the start of 2025.
