TRON DAO Backs UK AI Agent Hackathon at Imperial College London
Geneva, Switzerland, August 25, 2025 – TRON DAO, the community-governed decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) focused on expanding the decentralization of the internet through blockchain tech, acted as the Title Sponsor for the second UK AI Agent Hackathon. Imperial Blockchain Group from Imperial College London hosted the event, which ran from August 2 to August 24. The hackathon drew participation from over 400 students from institutions including Oxford University, University College London, and King’s College London.

A key moment was the recognition of Justin Sun, TRON's Founder, with the ‘Best Blockchain Innovator’ Award. This award acknowledges TRON’s contributions to stablecoin adoption, decentralized finance (DeFi), and practical blockchain applications.
Sam Elfarra, Community Spokesperson for the TRON DAO, spoke about TRON's continued growth and its infrastructure. He noted that TRON’s robust and scalable network provides the computing resources needed for AI agent applications, potentially reshaping sectors like financial services and autonomous technologies.
TRON Bounty Challenge Promotes AI Development
TRON DAO also launched a bounty challenge, offering $10,000 USD in prizes. Participants integrated AI agent software development kits (SDKs) like LangChain and Superagent with the TRON blockchain. The challenge included four categories designed to showcase AI agents' on-chain applications:
- AI Agent SDK Integration Track: $2,500
- AI Wallet Management Agent Track: $2,000
- AI-Powered Payments Infrastructure Track: $2,500
- AI DeFi Products & Services Track: $3,000
The bounty program produced diverse submissions, from automated trading algorithms to AI-driven financial advisors, all utilizing TRON’s blockchain. The TRON DAO’s Ecosystem Development team conducted a workshop featuring demonstrations and feedback, supporting participants in improving their AI agent solutions.
Community and Closing Remarks
TRON DAO and the Imperial Blockchain Group jointly hosted a gathering, bringing together over 100 participants, industry experts, and innovators to build relationships after the hackathon. TRON DAO is committed to supporting developers and converting academic concepts into blockchain applications.
