Bitcoin 2022 has created something of a BTC players’ dream team, with El Salvador President Nayib Bukele and Virginia-based businessman Michael Saylor leading an industry A-list of global business, political, and thought leaders speaking this upcoming April in the sunshine state. Both men have been closely followed for their vocal support and advocacy of Bitcoin, even to the use of their respective treasury and company balance sheets

Nayib Bukele has become an identified global leader in the fight for BTC adoption, as El Salvador became the first nation to write Bitcoin into law as legal currency just last September – a move that earned the small Central American country global headlines for weeks. Attendees of BTC 2022 are in for a dynamic, bitcoin-enriched experience when speakers begin gracing the main stage at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

Michael Saylor has been a staunch public supporter of Bitcoin, since 2020. In August of that year the Microstrategy CEO announced that the business intelligence and cloud-based services firm would invest $250 million of the company’s treasury into Bitcoin. A month later the company purchased another $175 million, and both the outspoken CEO personally, and Microstrategy have continued to strengthen their Bitcoin holdings since. His position has been that Bitcoin represents a better store of value than cash.

Nayib Bukele became President of El Salavador at the age of 37 years old, in a very non-traditional route. The popular young politician edged out candidates from 2 opposing political parties which had collectively dominated the presidency for 3 decades. On September 7th last year the popular, sometimes controversial president became the spotlight of international media when he announced El Salvador had made Bitcoin legal tender of the country. Since that time President Bukele has been vocal in supporting Bitcoin as a method to include the unbanked into the economic flow and to easily facilitate cross-border payments.

President Bukele and Mr. Saylor are 2 of several captivating speakers who will deliver commentary to those in attendance at the star-studded Bitcoin event.
